Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for the Veevid GPT Image 2 Chrome Extension - what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.
2026/04/29
This page describes the data practices of the Veevid GPT Image 2 Chrome Extension ("the Extension"). It applies specifically to data handled by the Extension and supplements the Veevid main Privacy Policy which governs the website itself.
If you only use veevid.ai in a regular browser tab and have not installed the Extension, this page does not apply to you.
What the Extension collects
The Extension processes the following user-provided or browser-provided data when you actively use it:
- Prompts: text you type into the Extension dashboard (up to 20,000 characters per request).
- Reference images: when you use Image-to-Image mode, the images you upload (up to 16 per request, JPEG / PNG / WEBP).
- Right-click image URL: when you select "Edit with GPT Image 2" from the right-click menu on any webpage, the Extension reads the URL of that image (
info.srcUrl) and passes it into the Extension dashboard. The Extension does not take screenshots and does not read other page content. - Veevid session cookies: the Extension reads the
better-auth.session_tokencookie (and its__Secure-variant) from theveevid.aidomain to confirm you are signed in. No other site's cookies are read. - Local cache (chrome.storage.local): the Extension caches non-sensitive metadata such as the credits pricing config (~15 minute TTL) and your account display info (cleared on sign-out).
- Request metadata: every API call includes standard headers identifying the Extension itself (extension ID, version, name, manifest version) and your browser's User-Agent string.
The Extension does not collect: keystrokes outside its own UI, browsing history, page contents of arbitrary websites, clipboard data, or location.
How the data is transmitted
All data sent by the Extension is transmitted over HTTPS to Veevid's API at https://veevid.ai/api/*. The session cookie is automatically attached (credentials: 'include') so we can authenticate the request against your Veevid account.
Where the data is stored
- Prompts and generation results: stored in the Veevid backend, linked to your Veevid account, visible in your "My Creations" page.
- Reference images you upload: stored in Cloudflare R2 under the
image-generator/prefix and automatically removed after 14 days by an R2 lifecycle rule. They are not used for model training. - Generated output images: stored in Cloudflare R2 with a 90-day retention policy (consistent with the publicly listed retention on the Veevid pricing page), or removed earlier when you delete the corresponding creation from "My Creations".
- Local cache (
chrome.storage.local): lives only in your browser. Pricing config is auto-refreshed every ~15 minutes; account info is cleared when you sign out. You can clear all of it at any time by removing the Extension. - Cookies: the Extension does not store cookies of its own. It only reads existing
veevid.aisession cookies set by the website itself.
Third parties we share data with
To actually run the GPT Image 2 model, we forward your prompts, reference images, and the resulting output to a third-party AI model API provider that hosts the model upstream. That provider processes the data strictly to fulfill your generation request, under its own data-handling terms, and we choose providers that align with that purpose. No other third-party processors receive your prompts or images.
We do not:
- sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
- run third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, Sentry, PostHog, or similar) inside the Extension
- share your data with any party other than that upstream model provider for the sole purpose of running the requested generation
We comply with applicable law (e.g. valid legal process) and the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Stop using the Extension at any time by removing it from
chrome://extensions. Removing the Extension also clears its local cache. - Sign out inside the Extension or on veevid.ai, which clears your cached account info and forces re-authentication on next use.
- Delete generated content from the "My Creations" page on veevid.ai. Deleting a creation removes the database record and the generated output file from our Cloudflare R2 storage. Reference images you uploaded as input are auto-removed after 14 days by an R2 lifecycle rule.
- Request account deletion: email
hello@veevid.aito delete your Veevid account; account deletion removes all associated prompts, generation records, and links to stored output images. - Manage cookies via your browser settings; clearing the
veevid.aisession cookie will simply force you to sign in again.
Children
The Extension is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Do not use it if you are under that age.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this Extension Privacy Policy we will update the "Effective date" below and, where required, the version listed in the Chrome Web Store. The current version always lives at https://veevid.ai/privacy/chrome-extension.
