What does this clean audio tool do?

It cleans audio by removing background noise from speech. Upload a voice recording or a video and it takes out hum, hiss, fans, air conditioning, traffic and music behind the voice, then gives you back clean, studio-quality speech.

Can I clean audio and remove background noise from a video?

Yes. Upload an MP4, MOV, M4V or WEBM file and the tool cleans its audio track. You get the cleaned audio as a FLAC or WAV file with the same length as your video, so it lines up when you drop it back into your editor and mute the original track. The video must contain an audio track.

What kinds of noise can it remove?

Steady noise like hum, hiss, fans and air conditioning, as well as changing noise like traffic, chatter and background music. It is built for speech: use it on voice-overs, podcasts, interviews, lectures and vlogs, not on songs or music you want to keep.

Will it cut out quiet or distant words?

It is designed to keep quiet and distant words instead of gating them out, and loudness normalization then brings them up to a comfortable level. It cannot rebuild words that are completely buried in noise, so record as close to the microphone as you can.

What does noise reduction strength do?

It sets how much background is allowed to remain while someone is talking. The default 0.874 lowers the background under speech by up to 18 dB. Lower values leave more room tone or music behind the voice for a more natural sound; higher values remove more. Silence between words is always fully cleaned, whatever you choose.

Should I leave loudness normalization on?

For most uses, yes. It brings the result to a consistent level (-19 LUFS by default, adjustable from -40 to -8) so it is ready for podcasts, YouTube and social video. Peaks are capped at -1.1 dBTP without compression, so very loud targets may not be fully reached. Turn it off to keep the volume of your original recording.

Should I choose FLAC or WAV?

Both are lossless, 48 kHz mono, 16-bit, so they sound the same. FLAC files are typically 30–60% of the size of WAV; WAV opens in every audio and video editor. Stereo files are mixed down to mono.

How long and how large can my file be?

Up to 30 minutes and 512 MB per file. Supported formats are MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS and FLAC for audio, and MP4, MOV, M4V and WEBM for video. For longer recordings, split them into parts.

How much does it cost?

3 credits per minute of audio. The length is rounded to the nearest second and then up to the next whole minute, with a 1-minute minimum, so a 10-minute podcast costs 30 credits and a 30-minute file costs 90. If processing fails, the credits are refunded automatically.

Where are my results saved?

Every cleaned file is saved in My Creations, where you can play it or download it again. Deleting it there removes the result together with the file you uploaded.
